5-Pack USB 18650 Charger Module — Type-C / Micro / Mini USB Li-ion Charging Board
Charge 18650 Cells from Any USB Source.
These compact charging modules let you add USB charging capability to any DIY project that uses 18650 or other Li-ion cells. Each module handles the full charge cycle — constant current bulk charge followed by constant voltage top-off — and cuts off automatically when the cell is full. The 5-pack gives you enough modules for multiple projects or replacements.
Features
- 5 modules included — five identical charging modules for multiple projects or spares
- Multiple USB input options — available in Type-C, Micro USB, and Mini USB variants; check variant for input connector type
- CC/CV charge profile — constant current / constant voltage charging profile correct for Li-ion and LiFePO4 cells
- Automatic cutoff — stops charging automatically when the cell reaches full voltage; prevents overcharging
- LED charge indicator — red LED during charging; blue or green LED when charging is complete
- Compact PCB form factor — small board size for easy integration into DIY enclosures and projects
- Overcharge protection — built-in protection circuit prevents cell damage from overcharging
- Wide compatibility — compatible with 18650, 18500, 14500, and other standard Li-ion cell sizes
Who It’s For
- DIY electronics builders who need a simple, reliable charging solution for Li-ion cell projects
- Makers and hobbyists building custom power banks, flashlights, or battery-powered devices
- Engineers prototyping battery-powered products who need a quick charging solution
- Anyone who needs to charge 18650 cells from a USB source without a dedicated charger
How to Use
- Solder the module’s B+ and B− pads to the positive and negative terminals of your Li-ion cell.
- Connect a USB cable to the module’s input port.
- The red LED will illuminate to indicate charging is in progress.
- When charging is complete, the LED will change to blue or green and current will stop automatically.
- Disconnect the USB cable after charging is complete.
Frequently Asked Questions
What charge current does it deliver?
Most standard modules deliver 1A charge current. Check the variant specifications for the exact charge current — higher current modules charge faster but generate more heat.
Can I use it with LiFePO4 cells?
Standard Li-ion modules charge to 4.2V, which is too high for LiFePO4 cells (which charge to 3.65V). Use a module specifically designed for LiFePO4 chemistry if charging LiFePO4 cells.
Is it safe to leave charging unattended?
The automatic cutoff and overcharge protection make these modules safe for unattended charging under normal conditions. However, always charge Li-ion cells on a non-flammable surface and avoid leaving them charging overnight as a general safety practice.
